Usually, construction lifts provide powered and wheeled bases which are capable of driving to the work place and have a platform on them that is responsible for elevating employees. There are many various kinds of lifts and each one is suitable to different jobs and environment.
Bucket Trucks
Cherry pickers or bucket trucks, are built with a long boom which has a bucket connected at the end. This bucket area is where an employee could stand. Usually, bucket trucks are utilized by landscapers and by utility workers. Landscapers normally utilize these equipment to cut trees.
Bucket trucks are equipped with a boom assembly which is mounted on a standard truck, and this means these lifts can travel on roads at regular traffic speeds. This mobility really increases the area they could effectively service. This is particularly important for power companies. For instance, many of these companies use cherry pickers to raise employees up so they can reach and work on transmission lines. The buckets must be regularly inspected and correctly insulated as they are working near possible shock hazards.
Knuckle lifts or articulated boom lifts have a work platform mounted to an arm that can bend and reach obstacles. The base of the lift includes a turntable and is capable of turning the lift in a full circle. The base of the lift is mounted on wheels also for extra mobility.
Normally, the articulated boom lift is used for landscaping projects but is also handy for maintenance work on projects that are already completed. Projects which do not require easy access directly underneath the jobsite. These lifts can be utilized for exterior electrical work and to repair piping, as well as hard to clean areas. Usually knuckle lifts are driven by the worker in the platform with the extended boom.
