Telescoping Boom Lifts
Telescopic booms are big industrial machinery designed with a straight boom arm which is extendable. The boom is usually located on a rotating turntable. The telescoping boom lifts are normally utilized for jobs which require tasks to be performed at heights which exceed other kinds of lifts. Like for instance, workers could perform exterior repairs or renovations on buildings of medium height but utilizing these lifts as opposed to having the additional work of setting up an outside elevator or a pulley system.
The boom lift is only designed to hold one person. These buckets are more suited to specific jobs such as electrical repair, rather than window washing or general maintenance. These lifts are offered with both outdoor and indoor tires and are available in electric and gas configurations.
Scissor Lifts
Below the scissor lifts work platform are the cross braces in which the equipment gets its name. Once the braces move together it pushes the platform straight up. As these units must be directly positioned beneath the work location, compared to boom lifts, these units are way more limited in their use.
The scissor lift typically has a larger platform which allows the operator to control the lift to access a larger work area when the lift platform is raised off the ground. With scissor lifts, all-terrain capability is less of a concern with these models, because they need to sit on flat ground in order to be utilized. Scissor lifts are ideal for being used for cladding or window installation, as they provide the workers with the desired mobility; they are also a great option for window cleaning applications or exterior repairs.
Boom Trucks vs. Cranes
Bucket trucks, cherry pickers and boom trucks each refer to the class a type of utility vehicle used specially for vertical work. Usually, these trucks have a cab. It is here where the driver sits and controls the machinery. There is a bucket for where the employee could stand along with an actuator arm for lifting the boom and a winch for lifting.
Boom trucks take workers to heights that would usually be inaccessible. The function of cranes is to lift heavy supplies or equipment from one place to another. There are various kinds of cranes that can perform a variety of purposes. Both of these different types of machinery excel at different tasks and are great for specific applications and accomplishing certain tasks.
