Change an LPG Cylinder
There are various kinds of sources which can power forklifts. They can run from gasoline, LP gas or liquid propane, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for various uses. There are several facilities that have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders that are able to be changed out when the equipment has to be refueled.
In order to avoid potentially serious injury, specific precautions should be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for instance: be certain to wear the correct safety equipment like goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Make certain that you turned off the ignition of the forklift before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is securely closed. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Bear in mind that it would turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize a metal tool or any type of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
