Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Walkie or Rider is a Motorized Pallet Truck which is essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Walkie" models as well as "Rider" versions.
Just as the name implies, the walkie model is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit as they transport loads. The Rider model on the other hand, uses a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent transporting of loads over extended distances in warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are really maneuverable and fast.
It is essential to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and thus, it is not recommended to move unstable or tall loads utilizing these machines. A rider could be the perfect answer if you are looking for a cheap way of transporting loads from one place to another. If though, you must transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the right option.
Order Selector
The order selector or order picker is a piece machine designed specially for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator in an effort to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles which can work in aisles of less than six feet. They are extremely useful pieces of machinery during physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more common.
